As our smallest boat – and not a traditional canal boat – Kingfisher provides a unique experience of getting close to the water and moving nearly silently through the water, thanks to it’s electric motor.
Kingfisher operates April to September, on a pre-booking system only. Please contact us for more details and to book your trip.
Prices start from £40 for a 50 minute canal experience – either a family treasure hunt or supervised driving experience. (Costs are for sole use of the boat, and this is total cost, not per person)

Before taking a trip on Kingfisher, you will be asked to sign a passenger waiver to confirm all members of your party are physically fit to ride on the boat. Kingfisher requires a reasonable level of mobility and balance to enter and exit the boat. You will need to step from the pontoon on to the boat and take two steps down into the boat. Assistance from the crew will be given.
Buoyancy aids are available for all passengers. They are compulsory for under 18s to wear and optional for adults.
The staff and volunteers will make every effort to ensure the best of care and safety is offered to you as a passenger on Kingfisher – please listen to and follow instructions from the boat crew and shore personnel.
FCCT cannot take any responsibility for items (e.g. mobile phones, sunglasses, keys etc.) which fall into the canal. Please take care of your belongings especially when getting on and off the boat.
